Agapanthus (Agapanthus africanus)

Keyword – Celebration

What if recognising where you have been unloving could bring you closer to Love rather than further away from it?

When we recognise that our behaviour has caused harm, it can be easy to collapse into shame and self-punishment. I did something bad becomes I am bad. We may hide from what we have done, defend ourselves, blame others or believe we must suffer before we deserve forgiveness and love.

Hallelujah invites another way.

Taking responsibility does not require self-hatred. We can acknowledge an error, feel its consequences, experience genuine remorse, seek to understand what motivated us and choose to change — while remembering that we remain worthy of love throughout the process.

Like the Agapanthus flower emerging from its enclosing sheath, truth can gradually open what has been tightly held within us. What begins contained can be revealed, felt, understood and eventually released, allowing something more loving to flower in its place.

The broken piece of a beautiful blue pot became part of the creation story of this essence. Broken through frustration and impatience, it became a tangible reminder that our emotional condition can affect what we create around us. Yet the broken piece was not hidden or discarded. It was placed beside the Prayer for Divine Love.

There lies the heart of Hallelujah: bring the broken piece.

Within the spiritual foundation of One Garden, God does not require us to become perfect before approaching Love. We can come honestly with our mistakes, injuries, remorse and desire to change. God’s Love does not remove our responsibility or do the work for us; it provides a loving relationship within which we can face truth without destroying ourselves.

Our errors cannot always be undone, but what we do next matters. They can become opportunities to learn, repent, repair where possible and develop greater capacity to love.

And that is worthy of celebration. Not the celebration of being perfect, but of discovering that we can see another truth, soften our heart, change direction and continue growing in Love.

Invitation: This essence invites you to explore where shame, guilt or self-punishment may cause you to hide from your mistakes — and to discover whether you can bring what has been broken into truth, take loving responsibility, seek change and remain open to God’s Love throughout the process.
