There are times when moving towards something more truthful requires us to leave behind the security of what we have known before we can clearly see where we will land. Uncertainty can bring freedom and possibility, but also fear, grasping and the temptation to make other people responsible for carrying us.

Vagabonding invites you to consider how you travel through these unsettled passages. Like the wandering vine using surrounding plants for support as it reaches towards the light, there may be times when receiving help is both necessary and loving. Yet support can become dependence when we stop taking responsibility for our own direction, choices and impact upon others.

This essence encourages discernment between surrender and drifting, receiving and taking, God-reliance and expecting others to rescue us. Faith does not require certainty about where the journey will lead. Sometimes it grows because we continue to pray, listen, contribute and take the next responsible step while the destination remains unseen.
