About Christine

Hello, I’m Christine Cobden — the “midwife” of One Garden Essences. For nearly 20 years, I’ve been “birthing” over 180 essences from botanicals growing here in Australia.

My love affair with nature began when I was three. The Australian bush was my playground and my refuge — flowers, trees, ferns, and creatures became my companions and teachers. Amidst difficult family dynamics, the rhythms and beauty of nature gave me sanctuary and a deep sense of belonging.

In 1998, I was introduced to flower essences by a Native American Indian Shaman. The experience felt like a homecoming — as though I had been wrapped in a warm, familiar blanket. Just three years later, in 2001, I began teaching flower essences at a national level.

Then in 2006, while meditating near Uluru, a spirit friend invited me to create a new range of essences. The vision was clear: like gathering flowers from a shared community garden, these essences would honour all of humanity as equal and embraced — all belonging to the One Garden.

Since then, creating One Garden Essences has been both an adventure and a healing journey. Each essence has guided me to discover new landscapes of my soul — surfacing old wounds, awakening hidden truths, and revealing loving qualities ready to grow. Through this process, I’ve found a natural, non-religious relationship with God, and a deeper understanding of the loving laws of the soul and our innate self-healing design.

It hasn’t always been easy. Sometimes I’ve resisted the emotional work, hoping I could bypass the pain. But again and again, the essences remind me: when I’m emotionally honest and willing to feel, I’m equipped to heal. And when I let God and the essences in, things always shift for the better.

Beyond the essences, my life has been a tapestry of lessons in love and resilience. After three marriages and many relationships, in 2018 I married my soul mate, Stephen. Today, I delight in spending time with my grandchildren here on the Gold Coast, grateful for the ever-unfolding journey of love, healing, and discovery.

“Soul healing and development is about becoming a more loving, honest, transparent, accountable and emotional human being. This makes life happier."
