28 – Divine Reconciliation

Swamp Coral Tree (Erythrina crista-galli)

Keywords: All is possible

Have you mistaken “I cannot see a way through” for “there is no way”?

Divine Reconciliation invites hope into the places within us that feel broken, wounded or beyond repair. It does not ask us to deny what happened or pretend the past did not hurt. Instead, it asks: What can grow from here?

Created beside a swamp and sewer point, the magnificent Swamp Coral Tree rose from this fertile environment with lush growth and brilliant coral-red flowers. A pathway was unexpectedly cut through the shoulder-high grass leading directly to the tree — a powerful reminder that a way forward may exist even when we cannot yet see it.

Reconciliation does not necessarily mean restoring life to what it was before. Some things cannot be undone. But truth can be faced, grief felt, responsibility taken, wounds understood and new choices made. Like tender green shoots emerging from a blackened landscape after bushfire, new life can begin without denying the fire that came before it.

Divine Reconciliation reminds us that what happened to us does not have to become the final definition of us. The past may become fertile ground for learning, change and greater love — but we remain active participants in what happens next.

Invitation: Where have you concluded that something is beyond repair? What might become possible if you stopped seeing your present circumstances as the final outcome? What is one tender new step towards reconciliation, restoration and growth?
